Piastri: "We had a good day, even though it was full of ups and downs"

McLaren topped both practice tables on Friday.

Lando Norris finished the first session as the leader, while Oscar Piastri took first place in the afternoon session.

Piastri, who came fifth in the first practice, said that although they had a good finish on Friday, they were trying to make the car faster as a team.

"I would say it was a day of ups and downs, but at the end of the day things turned out well," the Australian said.

"But our rivals look fast. I think Verstappen was fast throughout the day, Ferrari was fast as well, and Mercedes came out at the end of the day.

"So, it looks like it's going to be a tight fight tomorrow. But we still have some things to work on."

"We already expected Red Bull to be quick, so it's not a big surprise."

"But yeah, we're just trying to make the car a little bit quicker, that's all. We tried some things today, some worked well, some not so well. We're still learning, so I think it was a good day."
